Our nurturing staff provide great care to all of our campers in our air-conditioned, state of the art Health Center. Located right in the center of campus, our Health Center is designed to keep your child healthy and safe during their time at camp.
Three registered nurses and a health center administrator live in the Health Center and are available 24/7, and a pediatrician visits camp regularly. In the event of an emergency Camp Kennybrook is located only 4 miles from Catskills Regional Medical Center.
Whenever a child spends a night in our Health Center or needs to be taken off camp to see a specialist, parents will get a call from the nurse and speak to their child. Additionally, private, air-conditioned rooms with TV’s are available for campers who need to stay overnight.
For campers who take daily medication, our nurses dispense medication after meals through CampMeds, a safe and efficient pre-packaged system. We are equipped to handle a variety of food allergy needs, including EpiPen injection and administration. The health and safety of our campers is our number one priority!
The entire camp eats together in our modern, airy dining room where we can be heard singing and cheering throughout all meals. Campers and counselors sit by bunk, and are served family-style by waiters and waitresses. Our varied kid-friendly menu is prepared by certified dietitians who work for universities during the winter, and we are a 100% nut-free camp. We strive to provide well-balanced meals and our counselors are always encouraging campers to make healthy choices. Additionally, we can accommodate all dietary needs such as gluten-free, dairy-free, kosher, vegan, and vegetarian diets, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any of your child’s special dietary needs.
Cereal, bagels, scrambled eggs, fruit, and oatmeal are always available at breakfast, in addition to daily rotating items such as pancakes, waffles, French toast, and assorted pastries. We have a fresh salad bar, soup, pasta, and fruit available at every lunch and dinner, in addition to the main meal which rotates daily. There’s truly something for every camper at each & every meal.
The canteen is one of the most popular spots on camp for both campers and staff with great snacks, drinks, foosball tables, indoor and outdoor seating, and camp memorabilia covering the walls.
All campers have a mid-afternoon snack at the canteen. Snacks switch off from chips to ice cream to candy, and there is always a healthy fruit option available. Older campers socialize at the canteen every night after evening activities while enjoying snacks and drinks together.
