We’re lucky to have such an incredible Leadership Team at Kennybrook. After all, its the people that make the camp experience so special! Our Leadership Team is made up of long-term adult educators, and many of them have been members of the Kennybrook family for more than 10 years. You won’t find a group with with more experience or passion for the camping industry than them!
Assistant Director & Girls Head Counselor
Colleen is our Assistant Director and Girls Head Counselor, and she has been with us for over 20 years. She’s a fun-spirited person and always brings a smile to our Kennybrook campers. She works year-round for Camp Kennybrook, and manages our winter office in Ardsley, NY. Colleen grew up in England and graduated from Durham New College. She arrived at Kennybrook in 1998 as a bunk counselor and over the years has been our Athletic Director and Associate Director. Colleen fell in love with Kennybrook many years ago, and is currently involved with all aspects of planning and implementing our programs. During the winter months, Colleen resides in Hackensack, NJ where she also works as an NJ State ODP Head Coach. Colleen brings her love for soccer to Kennybrook each summer where she oversees our competitive soccer program.
Corey Dicker serves as our Boys Head Counselor. Along with his daughters, Molly and Sophie, Corey has been a member of the Kennybrook family for the past 8 summers. He started out as our oldest boys group leader before working his way up to Boys Head Counselor. During the off season Corey is an Assistant Principle at a middle school in New York City where he also oversees the science department. He resides in Suffern, NY and is counting down the days until opening day!
Director of Operations
Arnie is pretty much a permanent fixture at Camp Kennybrook, with over 45 years of dedicated stellar service. His children attended Camp Kennybook and all 6 of his grandchildren are now campers. Arnie was our Boys Head Counselor for many years and he created and directed our popular Teen Travel Adventures. Working with us year round as our Director of Operations, Arnie is intimately involved with the planning and decision making involved in all areas of camp. Arnie and his wife Wendi live in New City, NY, and he teaches at the Reuben Gittleman Day School with a Masters in Adult and Community Education.
Michele Suso has been a member of the Kennybrook family for more than 25 summers. She started out as a counselor, progressed to a Group Leader and Senior Trip Director, and now serves as our Program Director. Michele creates and implements all aspects of the daily program and special events, and has brought many new ideas and improvements to Kennybrook over the years. She also contributes over the winter months as we prepare for each summer. During the year Michelle teaches Science Lab and STEAM in Aventura, FL, where she has been living for the past 16 years.
Andrew has been a part of the Kennybrook family since 2004 as a camper, counselor, fitness director, and youngest boys group leader. As our current Camper Coordinator, Andrew works closely with new and returning families year-round to help make the transition to camp as seamless as possible. During the winter months Andrew lives in New York City where he works as an elementary school music teacher.
Dana grew up at Kennybrook as a camper for 11 summers before becoming a Nassau County Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. This upcoming summer will be her fourth year back at Kennybrook as a staff member. Dana has been working in and around pools for 24 years, and now she oversees all aspects of our pool, lake and water-ski program. During the year Dana works as a Physical Education and Health teacher in a high school on Long Island. She has a passion for teaching swimming and does so daily during the school year. Dana lives in Lynbrook, NY with her husband and their two sons, Ryan and Dylan, who also attend Kennybrook.
As our Athletic Director, Dustin works to ensure campers embrace Kennybrook Kindness, enthusiasm, and teamwork in order to build confidence and skills both on and off the courts. Dustin started at Kennybrook back in 2009 as a basketball counselor. Since then he has assumed many different leadership positions on camp before working his way up to Athletic Director. During the off-season, you’ll find Dustin at sea where he directs the teen program for Carnival Cruises.
As our Baseball Director, with over twenty years of baseball coaching experience, Teddy Craig has a true love of the game. He’s been at Camp Kennybrook for over ten years, and not only runs our baseball program, but also our “Extra Inning Baseball” private lessons. Teddy mentors baseball players to develop new skills, build self confidence and gain a deeper understanding of the game. He also brings a high-tech edge, through individual video analysis on mechanics and more. During the winter months, Teddy is the head baseball coach at Ravenwood High School in Nashville, which is one of the largest high schools in TN. He played competitive college baseball at The University at Arkansas/Little Rock. Teddy, his wife Marna, and their three children Chad, Shane and Tyler live in Nolensville, TN during the winter months.
Micah Brand runs our basketball program and also our “Three Point Basketball” private lessons where he works with both seasoned players, as well as campers with little experience. Micah is a true athlete and brings years of basketball experience to our program. He is an educator in the Middletown School System and the Woman’s Head Basketball Coach at SUNY Orange County Community College. Micah is also the owner/operator at Attack the Rim Basketball Academy, a basketball skills training program for kids of all ages. Micah played 4 years of basketball at the University of Massachusetts, and then 10 years of professional basketball overseas. Micah and his wife, Danielle, live in Middletown, NY, with their four children.
